Comprehensive weather protection for cold and wet conditions
This is the most versatile jacket Castelli has ever made. Typically, a jacket with zip-off sleeves is a compromise that isn't particularly good in any way. That's because a jacket that becomes a vest is inherently flawed. And this is usually made worse by poor zipper construction.
The Perfetto Convertible, on the other hand, is almost identical to the well-known Perfetto RoS 2 Jacket from Castelli. It offers all-round wind protection, is essentially waterproof and shines with excellent breathability and a body-hugging fit. By adjusting the layers of clothing underneath this jacket, you can cover everything from mild conditions to cold days, whether sunny or wet. The sleeves are zipped off just above the elbows, then the jacket is almost identical to the well-known Gabba from Castelli - the professionals' favorite. On mild days you start at home without sleeves; when the weather is changeable you take off the compact sleeves and stow them in your jersey pocket. In this way, the Convertible is even better than the Gabba, thanks to the zippered vents on the front.
If you are not sure whether to buy a Perfetto RoS 2 Jacket or a Gabba RoS 2, the Convertible is the right choice for you. Already have a Perfetto and a Gabba? Then you'll be surprised at how practical the convertible is when you want to take off your sleeves on the go. But it is also ideal for traveling when luggage space is limited.
