Even lighter and more powerful are the new XTR BL-M9120 brake levers for the new 4-piston XTR calipers.

Starting with a braking system that was already the measure of all things in mountain bike braking systems, the SHIMANO engineers redesigned the design of the new brake levers. Both the clamp and the lever body itself have been changed. The clamp moves further into the center of the lever and is angled. As a result, the outer end of the expansion tank is supported in a clever way directly on the handlebar and thereby creates an additional abutment in the lever operation. This significantly increases rigidity and stability, ultimately leading to an even more direct brake feel and controllability.

The XTR BL-M9120 brake levers for the new XTR 4-piston calipers come with special SERVO-WAVE technology, which allows the reach to be adjusted without tools and also has an adjustment for the free travel.

Shimano Servowave Action
When operating a SERVOWAVE brake lever, the initial braking distance is short so that only minor lever movements are required to bring the brake pads into contact with the rotor. The force multiplication factor then increases rapidly at the contact between the contact surfaces, so that more lever stroke is used. The result is improved braking performance and more control.

Shimano I-Spec EV
The new I-SPEC-EV construction makes it possible to mount SHIMANO shifters directly on the brake lever. This eliminates the need for a clamp and the adjustment range can be significantly increased. 14 mm are available with I-SPEC-EV for the longitudinal adjustment and 60 ° for the adjustment in the direction of rotation, so that each driver can make a setup that suits his individual anatomy or preferences.
