S-Works Aethos – SRAM Red eTap AXS
Don’t get Specialized wrong, they love racing. The Grand Tour and the legendary classics: they are all part of its DNA. But sometimes it's just about cycling for the sake of cycling. That's what it really comes down to - dedication and passion. And that's exactly what the Aethos stands for. It doesn't sacrifice performance, because it's not just a coincidence that it's the lightest frame on the market. Specialized have made no compromises when it comes to style. The Aethos is the result of billions of calculations with a single goal: to create the perfect driving experience.
With the lightest frame in the world, the legendary Red eTap AXS group from SRAM and the feather-light Alpinist wheels from Roval, you get a perfectly balanced high-end racing bike that doesn't sacrifice anything when it comes to performance.
Highlights
- The Aethos frame is the perfect combination of ultimate riding experience, low weight and unparalleled style. From acceleration on steep climbs to technical descents to incredible comfort on even the longest coffee rides, the Aethos always hits the mark. But how does it do that, you may ask. With the help of a supercomputer, Specialized have optimized the traditional racing bike shape of older bikes in a completely new way. The shapes have been subtly changed to provide massive benefits in stiffness and balance without negatively affecting weight or durability. In conjunction with their completely new layup process, which has been perfected over decades, the lightest frame in existence was created (585 g for the S-Works model with frame height 56). The Aethos is more than just a new bike, it's the first of a new breed of bikes
- A featherweight frame is useless without confidence-inspiring riding characteristics. That's why Specialized designed the Aethos to have exceptional riding qualities and to find the perfect balance of stiffness within the bike. In addition, extensive tests on the flexibility of carbon fibers allowed them to gain groundbreaking insights into how forces are distributed within a bicycle frame. After you pedal for the first few times, you'll notice that the exceptional handling sets a new standard
- The design of every detail, from the derailleur hangers to the fork crown, has been developed with style, weight and durability in mind. Specialized have even used Roval's brand new Alpinist seatpost and Alpinist wheelset to save even more weight and further improve ride quality. Everything about this bike strives for the perfect ride
