Engineered to conquer the roughest trails
If Mad Max rode a bike, he would ride the Honzo ESD. It's part Honzo, part Monster. Inspired by the geometry of the Process X, it's made for those who push the trail to the limit. The steel frame is extremely robust and can easily withstand the toughest demands that can be placed on a bicycle. A new warrior of the wasteland.

Technologies used
In this chapter we explain the technologies that the manufacturer uses in this product.
Kona Cromoly
Very few materials offer as much cushioning, stability and a smooth ride as steel. Kona has never strayed from cycling's original material and has worked tirelessly to adapt, refine, innovate and evolve Kona cromoly framesets to meet rider needs.
Semi-integrated headset
The big advantage of an internal headset, where the cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable, is the extra layer of protection that protects the bearings from the elements. An internal headset also reduces the stack height, making the height of the stem and handlebars more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit.
Tapered head tube
More circumference at the bottom of the head tube ensures more distributed impact force, extending the bearing life of the headset itself and eliminating brake shudder and promoting positive steering response. The inherent strength of the triangular design also means a stronger helm station and improved balance, giving the rider more control off-road. A zero-stack, tapered head tube also ensures strength where stress is greatest on the lower cups, increasing bearing durability.
12x148mm rear axle
12x142mm, 12x148 and 12x157 rear axle standards offer two main advantages for Kona riders: the 12mm diameter of the rear axle ensures maximum rigidity of the rear hub and frame, while the 142/148/157mm outer diameter of the hub ensures that the wheel is fast and correctly positioned in the frame before the rear axle can be inserted. From 2016 the 12x148 standard will be available as a mix, mainly on the new Honzos alloy. 12x148 offers more tire clearance on the chainstay, while the rear wheel is stronger and more durable than a 12x142 thru axle.
