Specialized has combined their Body Geometry knowledge with the know-how of their world's best athletes to redefine the race shoe. A completely new, patent-pending closure system, a Dyneema® reinforced shoe sock and an ultra-stiff FACT Powerline™ carbon outsole prevent
Foot movements in the shoe and reduce the pressure on the tendons. The result is outstanding power transmission and high comfort in the shoe. The S-Works Ares is 1% faster than any shoe Specialized has made to date and that's all that counts at the finish line.

- The key to more comfort, fewer injuries and better power transmission are Specialized 's ergonomically developed and scientifically tested Body Geometry features - longitudinal arch support, varus wedge and adapted insoles with a metatarsal button. These three features align your hip, foot and knee while reducing lateral knee movement and maintaining adequate ventilation to your toes
- Patent-pending closure system protects the foot from extreme movements when pedaling, blocks metatarsal movement and prevents lateral movement
- Dyneema® material is sandwiched between a synthetic layer and a layer of TPU to create rock-solid areas that still hug your foot
- Specialized stiffest and lightest FACT Powerline™ carbon plate maximizes power transfer. Stiffness index: 15
- BOA® Li2 Fit System for on-the-fly adjustment
- PadLock heel construction wraps the heel and improves traction
- Non-slip, replaceable heel profile with internally fixed screws for more security
- Form Fit last with a roomy heel box for the ultimate connection to the shoe and increased comfort
- Titanium cleat nuts that generate 5mm adjustment travel by turning. Fits all standard 3-hole road pedals
