According to cyclingnews.com, this jacket “sets a new standard for what a winter cycling jacket can do” and is exactly what we think the perfect winter jacket should be. With this new generation, the Alpha Doppio RoS Jacket, we've added even more improvements to our best performing jacket yet.
Even the best fabrics currently available on the market offer a high level of breathability, but cannot keep up with the perspiration that high-intensity riding can result in. Therefore, we have chosen a double-layer construction that allows the outer wind protection layer to be opened while the insulation layer remains closed, allowing moisture inside the jacket to be evacuated thanks to air circulation, avoiding direct contact with the skin. During a long climb we open the outer layer completely to allow moisture to escape, and as we begin the descent we close the outer layer again so that everything inside remains completely dry. It works so well that you'd think magic was at work.
In this new generation we have used a softer, warmer insulation layer made from Polartec® Alpha Direct. In addition, we made small changes to the openings: the neck, the hem and especially the wrists. The collar hits high and is shaped to follow your every move, whether you're standing or in an aero position defending your winning spot against your friends. At the hip level, we added a stretch layer with silicone reinforcement that lays flat and completely seals against wind without restricting or riding up. The dual-layer wrist opening has been redesigned to include an inner layer that fits under your glove and sits close to the wrist, and an outer layer that pulls over the glove so rain rolls off the outside of the glove and cannot get inside.

To ensure that the jacket performs well even in wet conditions, we used GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabric and waterproofed the most important seams on the shoulders. Other seams, however, are hidden from direct exposure to water, so that the water-repellent treatment of the fabric is sufficient to largely prevent moisture from penetrating. We describe them as “substantially waterproof,” using our subjective judgment to aim for a balance of rain protection, breathability, and comfort. Although this doesn't mean that a drop of rain will never get inside the jacket, we always stayed completely dry on longer rides in heavy rain. All of these features make it a favorite with our teams and the majority of our brand ambassadors: this is the most versatile cold weather training jacket we've ever created.
