power transmission and aerodynamics
The new KEO BLADE CARBON is designed to win and improves the experience with blade technology in clipless pedals. This new version is the result of the experience of many years of technical development in Look's factory and constant improvements in daily contact with the greatest cycling champions.
The new KEO BLADE CARBON is light, aerodynamic, powerful and has all the advantages that allow you to improve your performances and optimize them towards victory. That's why many cycling champions unanimously chose the KEO BLADE CARBON as their bike of choice and used it as a kind of weapon to achieve their greatest victories. The KEO BLADE CARBON thus benefits from the best weight/performance ratio in its category.
The leaf spring is fully integrated into the new design, guaranteeing unsurpassed aerodynamics. The Blade Carbon, with carbon body and leaf, is available in the Ti version (with titanium axle) weighing just 95g per pedal, or in the Cr version (chromoly + axle) weighing 110g per pedal. It is available in three trigger hardnesses: 12, 16 and 20.

Optimized axle line - greater power transmission and reliability
The axle line of the new BLADE CARBON has been completely rethought. It is built around an oversized axle and a cross section axle line consisting of an internally positioned ball bearing and centered sleeve needle bearings under the bearing surface. This new construction makes it possible to gain about 2 watts at 100 rpm.
The distance between the ball bearing and the sleeve needle bearing has been increased by 25%. This provides more rigidity throughout the axle line and consequently improves power transmission. Special attention was also paid to tightness. This has been improved by 120% for increased reliability and durability. In addition, the new axle line received a new cover with an O-ring at its outer end. It is equipped with a double lip seal positioned on the inside.
LOOK axles are approved only after a rotation test of 2 million cycles at 100 rpm with a load of 90 kg at the center of the pedal and an eccentric rotation (creating a shock with each rotation). That corresponds to a sprint by André GREIPEL with 1,700 watts at 100 rpm for 333 hours! This test goes far beyond the current ISO 4210 standard.
Super strong support surface
In order to meet the needs of the most demanding riders - namely competitors - the pedal and cleat system must allow efficient power transmission with a large and rigid contact area. The bearing surface of the BLADE CARBON is fitted with a 67 mm wide, molded stainless steel plate. It optimizes the contact areas between pedal plate and pedal for every pedaling angle. With a contact surface of 700 mm², the BLADE CARBON offers an optimized contact surface for efficient power transmission that is unrivaled on the market. Their weight/performance ratio performs significantly better than that of the competition.
Carbon technology in the pedal body and leaf spring
The use of carbon in the pedal body and spring leaf allows for a lower pedal weight with higher rigidity for better power transmission. The BLADE technology is a major technological innovation in the history of clipless pedals because it confers numerous advantages: low weight, aerodynamics, very safe entry/exit.
