Zipp's 808 Firecrest Tubeless Disc Wheelset is all about science when it comes to achieving speed. This is the perfect approach to Zipp's standard wheel for triathlons, time trials and hammer fests.
The 80mm deep rim is designed to make you faster in every way. Zipp's Total System Efficiency (TSE) design approach gives the 808 Firecrest new features, such as: B. a significant weight reduction of more than 300 grams compared to the previous model. In addition, the wheel was developed with a hookless and tubeless rim profile and an inner width of 23mm. This is ideal for running wider tires with lower pressure, improving rolling resistance and cornering grip. In fact, TSE combats the four major obstacles to speed: drag, gravity, rolling resistance and vibration losses.
Zipp's legendary Firecrest rim shape ensures high aero efficiency and crosswind stability. Zipp's ABLC technology uses a complex dimple pattern to improve aero efficiency. And although this wheelset is optimized for tubeless tires, you still have the option of running tubeless-ready tires with tubes.
The 808 Firecrest with TSE builds on the success of this wheel for TT and triathlon. This wheelset is fastest with a 28mm tire. Disc brakes also provide more reliable speed regulation and stopping power in all weather conditions. In triathlon, wider tubeless tires with lower pressure are faster and provide a smoother ride, so your legs are fresher for the run.
Zipp's German-engineered ZR1 DB hubset provides quick engagement and rugged durability, adding to the 808 Firecrest's punch.
