WaveCel
WaveCel is a compressible cell structure on the inside of Bontrager helmets.
A WaveCel helmet from Bontrager protects the brain in typical bicycle accidents up to 48 times more effectively than a conventional foam helmet.
The forces that occur in an accident are absorbed by WaveCel in several stages. Upon impact, the layers of WaveCel material move first, freely and independently, and deform until the cell walls compress. Then they begin to slide and actively absorb the occurring linear and rotational forces and guide them away from the head of the helmet wearer.
