The electronic SRAM Force AXS derailleur
One derailleur for everything. The SRAM Force eTap AXS™ rear derailleur is designed for both 1x and 2x systems. It utilizes X-Range™ technology for a wider gear range and improved chain management, and features larger pulley wheels for enhanced durability and efficiency. Powerful, smooth, quiet, and AXS™ enabled.
Technologies used
In this chapter, we explain the technologies that the manufacturer uses in this product.
AXS
AXS is SRAM's new integrated platform for connecting electronic bicycle components to software. The SRAM AXS app allows riders not only to monitor battery level, influence shifting behavior, and configure controls to their personal preferences, but also to create maintenance schedules and update firmware.
X-Range
Road bikes are faster and more powerful than ever before, and riders are constantly demonstrating what bikes with drop handlebars are capable of. X-Range is the gearing for the modern way of riding a road bike. SRAM has completely redesigned road bike gearing for a wider gear range, smoother and more usable gear steps, and, thanks to AXS, smarter shift settings. With X-Range, you're always in the right gear.
orbit
Orbit technology is an innovative new way to control derailleur movement. It utilizes a silicone fluid as part of a sleek and ultra-lightweight damping system. Compared to a conventional friction clutch system, Orbit technology exerts no additional resistance on the derailleur spring during slow or light movements. This translates to smoother shifting and easier wheel removal. And while riding, the fluid damper reduces chain slap. This means rock-solid reliability for both 1x and 2x drivetrains.
X-Sync
SRAM's X-Sync 1x chainrings deliver top performance and durability. The long SRAM X-Sync tooth edges engage the chain earlier than traditional triangular teeth. The sharp, narrow tooth profile and rounded chamfered edges further enhance chain retention. To ensure optimal performance even in muddy conditions, the X-Sync chainrings feature recesses to clear dirt and mud from the inner chain links and rollers. Manufactured in Germany, the X-Sync chainrings are a key component of SRAM's 1x drivetrain.
