Powerful brake discs for road and off-road use
Shimano's compact and lightweight RT-MT800 brake discs are characterized by particularly fast heat dissipation thanks to the ICE TECHNOLOGIES FREEZA heat management system. The centerlock design makes installing and removing brake discs child's play.
Highlights
- Advanced heat sync design reduces braking performance degradation
- A new design of the brake disc improves heat dissipation and reduces the loss of braking power
- Easy brake disc assembly through toothing and lockring
- Compatible with plastic and metal coverings (narrow design)

Technologies used
In this chapter we explain the technologies that the manufacturer uses for this product.
ICE-TECH
Fading, which can occur in the brake disc and pad when braking continuously on long descents, impairs braking performance. Shimano introduced ICE TECHNOLOGIES brake discs and ICE TECHNOLOGIES brake pads to create a cooling technology for consistently high braking performance. The brake disc with its 3-layer sandwich structure made of stainless steel, aluminum and stainless steel offers better heat dissipation. The brake pads also have cooling fins. The construction of the disc in connection with the cooling fins results in a longer service life of the pad, less braking noise, less fading and lower weight.
ICE-TECH FREEZA
ICE TECHNOLOGIES, in combination with the FREEZA brake disc construction, ensures rapid heat dissipation. This leads to a more even braking performance under extreme conditions, extends the service life of the brake lining and reduces the loss of braking force and braking noise.
scope of delivery
- 1 x Shimano RT-MT800 brake disc (see item description for details)
- 1 x lock ring
