The legendary Ritchey Swiss Cross in an anniversary edition
Tom Ritchey welded his first bike together in his parents' garage more than 50 years ago when he was only 15. Since then he has been riding, researching, designing and building legendary bicycle frames and components that have inspired generations of cyclists to create great rides, influenced legions of the bicycle industry and won countless championships.
The Swiss Cross, probably Ritchey's best-known frame, owes its name to the early factory rider, cyclocross and mountain bike legend Thomas Frischknecht. The first version of the Swiss Cross, released in 1994, was an uncompromising racing machine designed to do just one thing: tear through the dirt like no other. Under Frischi, the Swiss Cross achieved numerous victories and became one of the most revered frames in the Ritchey range - a successful combination of Tom's frame building skills and Frischi's dominance in racing.
In honor of Ritchey's 50th anniversary, we are pleased to present this special 50th Anniversary Edition of the Swiss Cross. This limited edition Swiss Cross is clad in Ritchey's iconic red livery and adorned with Ritchey logos that reference the company's history and Palo Alto, California's influence on Tom.
