The new 1x11 chainrings for XTR and Deore have been further developed based on in-depth testing with world-class cross-country and trail riders. The tests covered every conceivable situation, from the dusty conditions of America and southern Europe to the heavy mud and slush of the Nordic winter.
Efficient chain guide with Dynamic Chain commitment
Even more efficient chain guidance was the declared goal for the development of the new chainrings for the DEORE XT (SM-CRM81). This goal is achieved through the so-called Dynamic Chain Engagement. The revised tooth profiles of the CRM81 chainrings are shaped to provide optimum retention and optimal guidance of the chain on the chainring while reducing drive noise and minimizing wear. Coated steel teeth on the DEORE XT guarantee maximum durability.

Hyperdrive:

Derailleur, HG chain and SG-X chainrings work in a coordinated combination and make shifting ahead more reliable, faster and more accurate. Without HyperDrive, problems quickly arise, especially under load, when switching from the middle to the large chainring. Shimano's HyperDrive system eliminates these problems. The guide teeth, the SG-X chainrings, the super-stiff Wide-Link derailleurs and the special profile of the HyperGlide link plates have been designed to work perfectly together as a system, ensuring clean, trouble-free shifting. The chainrings have exceptionally high torsional strength. The profile of the teeth is specifically shaped so that when shifting in both directions the chain can slide and be picked up cleanly.

The Shimano XT FC-M8100 1x12-speed chainring
The new XT 1x12 chainrings are characterized by the DYNAMIC CHAIN ENGAGEMENT + technology, whose special high-precision manufactured tooth profile ensures that the chain on rough terrain, optimal grip on the upper part of the chainring, but down equally well from the chainring dissolves and thus ensures efficiency, ease of movement and low noise of the drive. For quick and safe mounting of the chainrings, these are equipped with a direct-mount system, which allows the chainring change in a flash.

Special tooth function
SHIMANO's DYNAMIC CHAIN ENGAGEMENT + is a special tooth profile for single chainrings in the XC, Enduro and Trail applications.
It improves the support and guidance of the chain and facilitates pedaling even in rough terrain. The improved chain guide in each gear reduces wear and tear.
