It is the most efficient, lightest, most durable and most manageable tubeless tire that Specialized has ever developed. Their RapidAir powered version of the S-Works Turbo broke the WorldTour's reliance on tubulars, and all it took was stage wins and green jerseys at the Tour de France and victories at other classics. It was definitely a feat of strength to get more speed and durability out of their fastest tubeless tire for everyday racing.

Specialized knew that with the construction of the RapidAir they had an incredibly fast foundation. Conventional three-ply casings accumulate a lot of material under the tread where it increases rolling resistance. The carcass of the RapidAir has only two layers that overlap at the flanks. This means that the RapidAir not only rolls faster, it also has better grip because the surface adapts better to the contact area. The use of their new rubber compound GRIPTON® T2 improves this remarkable performance even further. It's the fastest and most efficient compound that Specialized has ever developed. To do this, they have combined them with the legendary grip of GRIPTON® T5 on the shoulders. With these two different compounds, a 26mm set of Rapid 2BR can save two watts of rolling resistance and increase the mileage of a set by around 1000 km.

Did we mention that the RapidAir is also lighter? A 26mm tire weighs just 230g. As a tubeless tyre, the RapidAir has the "leave-your-spare-tyre-at-home" function when using RapidAir sealant. But that's not all. The new puncture protection BlackBelt with Kevlar sits directly under the tread and has 12% more puncture protection than the previous version. It's lighter and more flexible, making your ride even smoother. The new S-Works Turbo RapidAir is compatible with both hooked and hookless rims, giving you the ability to run a wider range of wheels and pressures. The new Zylon tire beads exceed standards for clipless rim burst pressure by an incredible 200%. So you can confidently lean into all curves. win-win situation!
