The powerful Turbo Vado 5.0 from Specialized
In the further development of Specialized Turbo line it was clear that a new bike should not only meet the requirements of their riders, but should exceed them. As our lives get hectic every day, a little time savings can have a big impact - the Turbo Vado 5.0 embodies exactly this concept. It uses their most advanced Pedal Assist technologies, has high quality equipment and a suspension fork to smooth potholes. No matter where you go, the Turbo Vado 5.0 will get you there faster and more stylishly.
The fully integrated Specialized 1.3 engine is more powerful, has a higher maximum torque, better heat management and higher efficiency than its predecessors. It is the most advanced motor ever built into an urban e-bike. The low-noise motor with its Custom Rx Street Tune is designed for use in urban areas and provides more than enough power for it. The more power you put on the pedals, the more power the engine returns. Acceleration from standstill is therefore quick and very efficient. The belt-driven engine runs very smoothly, quietly and free of disturbing vibrations.
Noticeably more power
A special 600 Wh battery has been developed for the Vado 5.0, which fits seamlessly into the frame, is lockable and can be easily removed to make charging easier. In other words, it gives plenty of juice to take you to work and back, to the supermarket, and even to the new cafe on the other side of town. If you want to know exactly how far you can get on one battery charge, check out Specialized e-bike range calculator to get an estimate.
The new Turbo Connect Display (TCD-w) is the best way to show data on your Turbo. Not only are basic metrics such as speed, cadence, power, battery level and time displayed - you can also use it to switch between the different support modes. The appearance of the display is kept very clean, without sacrificing robustness.
The latest version of the Mission Control app now offers even more functions and is more intuitive to use. It allows you to easily adjust almost any variable of the bike, monitor your battery consumption, control your range, carry out basic system diagnostics and record and upload rides.
As a highlight of all innovative features, Specialized has high-end equipment with Shimano XT / SLX 11-speed components, hydraulic 2-piston disc brakes, an SR SunTour fork with 50 mm travel, integrated front / rear lights and a bracket for Fenders / luggage rack installed. The new Vado 5.0 - always ready to conquer the city.
Highlights
- The geometry of the lightweight aluminum frame has been optimized with regard to fitness / transport
- The 1.3 turbo engine of the Vado is fully integrated into the frame, where it provides effortless movement with a nominal power of 250 watts. The software and response behavior of the engine are tailored to city use. The custom software constantly measures your pedal force so that a special algorithm can supplement your performance. The more power you invest, the more support you get. Since we use a toothed belt instead of a chain in the engine, it works very quietly and practically vibration-free
- The custom Li-Ion battery with 600 Wh is stylishly integrated in the frame, can be charged internally and externally and locked with a key or simply removed. The battery not only efficiently supplies the motor with energy, it also communicates with the display, has charging LEDs and a bottle holder thread.
