For limitless trail fun
Taking an evolutionary approach to eMTBs, the Fuel EXe 9.8 GX AXS features a powerful new motor that packs cutting-edge technology into a surprisingly small package. The basis is a light, stiff and agile carbon fiber chassis for a dynamic and playful riding experience on the trail. And so that the dynamics never lose momentum, the equipment is rounded off with carbon wheels, wireless shifting technology from the SRAM GX AXS and a supple, responsive suspension from the RockShox Lyrik Select+ suspension fork and the SuperDeluxe Select+ damper.
Why you will love it
It's the right bike for you if...
... you want an agile trail bike with the riding experience of a traditional mountain bike for fast, technical terrain, but don't want to do without the e-boost for extra pedal power on climbs. You like state-of-the-art technology from the motor to the drive unit and want to shoot down the trails with the revised suspension. However, when mountain biking you don't want to do without the natural riding experience and a sophisticated motor with particularly quiet drive support.
You get this equipment
An OCLV Mountain Carbon frame with a fully integrated 360 Wh battery and TQ Harmonic Pin Ring drivetrain with a clever charging connector, display integrated in the top tube and discreet remote control on the handlebars. Also a RockShox Lyrik Select+ suspension fork with 150 mm travel, DebonAir suspension and Charger 2.1 RC damping as well as a RockShox Super Deluxe Select+ with 140 mm travel. And, if that still doesn't convince you, here's the icing on the cake. The wireless SRAM GX AXS drive ensures a minimalist and clean cockpit.
That's what Trek says
The Fuel EXe 9.8 is a refined trail bike with just the right amount of support to power up mountains and then blast down technical sections and flowing trails. The equipment scores with future-oriented technologies, such as a state-of-the-art TQ drive unit and wireless SRAM GX AXS gears for a tidy, minimalist cockpit. The package is rounded off by carbon wheels and an upgraded RockShox chassis, so that you always keep control even in hairy situations.
highlights
- You get a bike that descends like your favorite trail bike and offers you adaptive support on climbs, but that doesn't make you look like a "cheat".
- Its compact, powerful TQ drive is tuned for the trail and is particularly quiet, so you can fully enjoy the riding experience and the natural pedaling feel
- The smart charging port, the elegantly integrated display and the discreet controls ensure that the clean look of a traditional mountain bike is retained
- The upgraded RockShox suspension with 150 mm travel at the front and 140 mm at the rear responds as softly as butter and irons out even larger obstacles on the trail
- To increase the range on long days in the saddle, a range extender battery can be retrofitted if desired
