Evolution of speed
The Epic 8 EVO Comp is Specialized 's downcountry bike for all the (positively) crazy people chasing the KOMs or QOMs on the world's fastest trails. More powerful, efficient and lighter than ever before, it impresses with new kinematics and special damper tuning both uphill and downhill. Whoever rocks this bike eats singletrack for breakfast and salts it with the tears of the competition.
If you want to be the fastest on your singletrack and leave your friends in the dust, then the Epic EVO is the bike for you
OUTRAGEOUSLY POWERFUL: With 130 mm of front travel and other specifications, the Epic 8 EVO feels right at home on light to medium-difficulty single trails and can swallow a lot of chunks with ease. You'll be overwhelmed by the performance of the progressive geometry, which shines on technical terrain, ensures quick acceleration and impresses with efficiency on climbs. The extremely high torsional rigidity of the frame guarantees the most precise handling. The most capable 120mm bike, just more capable.
UNSHAKED: The new Epic 8 EVO absorbs 12% more shock and vibration forces, so you tire more slowly and are more efficient over longer periods of time. While others are already at the end, you can easily do one or two more laps.
SHOCK TUNING FROM THE FACTORY: The Specialized Ride Dynamics team uses special tuning to adapt all shocks to Specialized 's best mountain bikes. This is also the case with the Epic 8 EVO, whose damping properties not only increase performance in the downcountry, but also the riding experience as a whole. Because we perfect the interaction of shock, leverage and kinematics, we can create a mountain bike that performs better as a unit than the sum of its parts.
SYMBIOSIS OF HUMAN AND MACHINE: Thanks to the optimized kinematics of the chassis, Specialized 's Ride Dynamics team was able to reduce pedaling-induced rocking by a full 20% - the suspension remains active while riders remain in the optimal position for maximum pedaling efficiency. Of the full-suspension mountain bikes tested by Specialized , the Epic 8 is the most efficient when pedaling.
LESS IS MORE: And savings are earned – at least in the case of the new Epic 8 EVO. It's lighter, but at the same time it has two new features: The SWAT™ Box 4.0 in the down tube offers space for everything you need in the event of a breakdown on the track. And the integrated steering stop ensures that the handlebars don’t “scratch the curve” on the top tube.
