WaveCel
WaveCel is a compressible cell structure on the inside of Bontrager helmets.
A Bontrager WaveCel helmet is up to 48 times more effective at protecting the brain from typical cycling accidents than a traditional foam helmet.
The forces occurring in an accident are absorbed by WaveCel in several stages. Upon impact, the layers of WaveCel material move first, freely and independently, deforming until the cell walls compress. Then they begin to slide, actively absorbing the linear and rotational forces that occur and directing them away from the head of the helmet wearer.
