The compact aero road helmet
The Cerebel was developed in close collaboration with the Cannondale Pro Cycling Team, Volvo Car Group and the WATTS Lab.
It was developed to improve aerodynamic performance. Extensive tests in the wind tunnel and CFD simulations (computational fluid dynamics) have shown that the Cerebel is also convincing in dynamic and changing postures, which can have a positive effect on the movement possibilities of the upper body and the removal of lactate compared to a static time trial position. The helmet's neck area is made of soft EVA, which is covered with an aerodynamic fabric for better comfort and reduced air resistance.
The Cerebel is equipped with a Zeiss visor, which uses a unique magnet system for attachment and guarantees a secure hold. The visor tint was developed in cooperation with Zeiss to increase the contrast of the road surface and to be able to identify small bumps or obstacles as quickly as possible. POC's unique magnetic visor attachment system is engineered to ensure the visor sits correctly with low drag, while also allowing for quick attachment and removal.

Technologies used
In this chapter we explain the technologies that the manufacturer uses in this product.
IN-Mold outer shell
Lightweight - Easily moldable to perfectly match the inner shell in the production process - Engineered to withstand a single violent impact
PC (polycarbonate)
Stiff and solid material for the outer shell of the helmet. The material is suitable for thermoforming and forms a strong bond with the inner shell of the helmet.
EPS inner shell (Expanded Polystrene / Styrofoam)
Material for inner shells of helmets from all manufacturers. Can be compressed under force and typically withstands only one impact. Lighter than EPP. EPS liners can be thinner than EPP liners because Styrofoam offers the same impact resistance with less material volume.
