The potent trail machine
First things first: The Stumpjumper EVO Alloy is not a "normal" trail bike. It's built to be wild, plain and simple. With the same brand new design as its carbon brothers - including adjustable head tube angle, 150 mm tuned travel, S-Sizing and integrated SWAT™ Box - in a lightweight yet robust M5 aluminum frame, you'll be able to rock trails previously reserved for downhill bikes.
Simply good sounds
160mm travel that tames the trail
Even the most travel is useless without the right kinematics, which is why Specialized put them at the forefront when developing the Stumpjumper EVO design. Using the knowledge gained from the Enduro's suspension design and more than 1,000 hours of development work on the trail and in the suspension lab, they have significantly improved uphill pedaling performance while creating a capable, efficient and lively bike that every biker craves. In addition, the anti-squat behavior has been increased so that the suspension better resists bobbing. Square obstacles are now also better absorbed, meaning less speed is lost.
The S-Sizing geometry of the Stumpjumper EVO is Specialized 's most progressive yet. Long, low, flat, a fork with little offset, a steeper seat tube angle - all of this makes your ride a better experience. However, different riders have different requirements for the bike, which is why the geometry of the Stumpjumper EVO is fully adjustable with six different settings. Not only can the bottom bracket height be adjusted by 10 mm, but the head tube can also be adjusted by up to two degrees. If you want to ride a 27.5" rear wheel in combination with a 29" front wheel with the EVO - no problem, there is the perfect setting for that too.
Rider-First Engineered™
Rider-First Engineered™ frames use a frame size-dependent approach to keep the ride characteristics identical across all sizes. Whether you're a small S1 rider or a giant on an S6 bike, the ride characteristics remain the same. Cornering like on rails and balanced stiffness between the front and rear wheels - all at the lowest possible weight.
SWAT™
When Specialized introduced the SWAT™ Box on the Stumpjumper in 2016, they increased the storage space and had enough room for puncture protection gear. On the new Stumpjumper, they kept the same design features but increased the volume and added a SWAT™ bladder that lets you hide an additional 650ml of water in your downtube. Yes, the bladder is the same size as a small bottle.
