Clément
The history of Clément is deeply rooted in the one of cycling. In 1878 sixteen year old frenchman Gustave Adolphe Clément-Bayard founded the company with 30 Franc (4,50 EUR) in his pocket. He soon made himself a name as a manufacturer of high quality tyres. After the first world war Clément moved to Italy and since then over several decades there was no other tyre that won so many races on the Tour de France or other daily races like the Clément tyre.The brand was bought by Pirelli in 1980 though he gave up the production of tyres in the 90s'. Finally the brand got reanimated on the Cross Vegas in 2009 from Donn Kellogg a former racing driver and NYC messenger of the 70s'. His goal was bringing Clément the brightness of past days back.
